Hardship Funds
The hardship fund provides extra support to students who need extra
help. This might be because your costs are higher than expected (for
example, if you're a single parent) or if you run into unexpected
financial difficulties during your course. You can use hardship fund
money to help with course-related costs like travel and childcare
costs, living expenses and books. This help does not have to be repaid.
The college or university will decide which students will receive
payments and how much each payment will be (it will depend on your
circumstances). For more details, ask at your college or university.
